Investigation Services
What is workplace investigation?
An investigation is a
fact-finding
exercise to collect all the relevant information on a workplace disagreement.
Why do it?
Determining a dispute without completing a
rational investigation, can make any subsequent decisions or actions
unfair
and leave an employer
vulnerable to legal action.
What do we need from you?
- Decide if an investigation is necessary
- Establish terms of reference
- Contact
representative from Empartial
How does it work?
During the investigation phase, we require the following details:
- Copy of the complaint
- Copy of any additional relevant documentation, including the client’s Harassment Policy
- Confirmation that the respondent has been informed of all allegations
- Contact information of the complainant, respondent, and witnesses
When we begin the investigation, we gather as much detail as possible by conducting interviews with individuals to obtain relevant and corroborated evidence that will be documented. Interviews can be performed in-person or virtually via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other video conferencing tools.
- Interviewing the complainant
- Interviewing the respondent
- Interviewing other witnesses
Once interviews are conducted, we will review the evidence and establish our findings.
